I will happily take card payments at shows, as I have an efficient and up to date card reader. However network reception is often very poor in rural areas, so I suggest you may want to bring some cash as well. This is painless and convenient in comparison to waiting around while the card machine repeatedly fails to connect to the network.

If you really feel cash is redundant, and have cash you no longer require, I'll gladly take it off your hands - I can always make use of it.
